In my opinion Dr. Tierney is as professional as a surgeon can be. He answered all my questions that my family and I had before procedures & surgery in a language we could all understand and drew simple diagrams regarding the procedures so we could get a better understanding of what was to happen. He was available 24/7 and visited me frequently while in the hospital. I was kept comfortable and completely pain free while under his care. Not enough space here to express my gratitude to him.
Dr. Tierney explained everything very well. He took the time to draw my mom a picture and answered all our concerns and questions.

Dr. Tierney literally saved my life, I couldn’t have asked for a better doctor. My case was a very hard and rare case but he pushed on and solved the problem and got my diagnosis of Igg4, a rare autoimmune disease. If it wasn’t for Dr. Tierney I don’t know if I’d be here today, Thank you very much for not giving up!

I had a hernia surgery end of September and Dr Tierney was was professional. He explained the whole process and operated the next day. Surgery went very well and I didn’t need any pain killers after 3 days. My wounds are healing nicely. I had a post surgery visit with him and he was very good and efficient.

Dr. Tierney is a life saver. In my case, a quality of life saver! I had two pancreatic pseudocysts. I was in chronic abdominal pain which affected my diet and general activity. I was hospitalized for GALLBLADDER removal and a CHOLECYSTECTOMY. I am now on my way to full recovery and resumption of my life without pain.
I would recommend Dr. Tierney without hesitation. He is an expert but more importantly, I truly felt he cared about me, not as only a patient but also as a person. I would also like to say that during the two weeks I was in the hospital trauma area, I was treated superbly. Over the two weeks I had several different nurses attend to me, EVERY single one of them treated me like a person first, then a patient. They cared, despite working in the time of COVID-19, of which some of the nurses spent time working that area, they looked to make my time comfortable, etc. I do not want to name all of the nurses because I will inadvertently leave someone out, however, I hope they can at least hear from this patient, they changed my life and it had nothing to do with why I was in the hospital. Dr. Tierney is one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever met. Even better than that, he is a thinker. You can see the wheels moving as he tries to decide the best way to treat the problem. He definitely treats the patient, not just the illness.
I have been a patient of Dr. Tierney’s more than once, and my husband has also been his patient. We appreciate his knowledge, attention to detail, and compassion towards his patients. He always answers all of our questions and acts as if he has nothing more important to do than listen to us! He doesn’t “sugar coat” the situation, but explains everything so that one can fully understand the condition and the treatment plan.
Dr. Tierney is a life saver. My husband had been severely in bad health with his pancreas for 3 years and given going to several other doctors they could not figure out what was the problem. Our first visit with Dr. Tierney was such a true blessing, he new what the problem was and how to fix it. Since the surgery Doc done my husband has had NO pain or issues! We owe this wonderful man- Doctor our life. We are so thankful for him. For Rocky Mountain Hospital to have such a wonderful and caring Doc means so much to Colorado. Compassionate Skillful Knowledgeable 100% patient focused
I met Dr. Tierney in the ER June 2018. I had been having internal issues since my daughter was born in 2002. 16 years and 3 states of living in and no one wanted to attempt to help me. He was the very first surgeon to say to my mom I need to have surgery to save my life. He was the one who took a chance of giving me my life back. He and Dr. Mitchel saved my life. I’m forever grateful to them both. They are forever in my heart and prayers. Dr. Tierney is amazingly talented and caring. If he is your doctor you are in excellent hands!!
Great bedside manner. Proved skillful and knowledgeable. Kept me and my family informed. Follow-ups in the office were timely and complete (we were not pushed through).
I wouldn’t want any other surgeon. Dr. Tierney is my hero !
